Wesley Juniors

Welcome to Wesley for 2019! If your children enjoy cross country or distance running (or just have lots of energy to burn!) joining the club is a great way for them to have fun, make friends and take part in some exciting events.

David Rowbotham organises junior training for Wesley. It is held on Thursday afternoons starting at 4:30pm, meeting on Mt Hobson Lane and going up to Mt Hobson Domain.  On occasion, the session may be in the Auckland Domain or Cornwall Park, but we will let you know by email or social media the up-to-date information.
Training begins
Thursday May 2nd 4:30pm, Mt Hobson Lane.
All kids are welcome to come along and have a fun team run on the hill.  These training sessions will be varied to keep the interest level up and, most of all, fun!  Expect a mixture of fartlek (efforts of varying distance and speed), longer runs, hill reps, and sometimes a good old game of tag to finish off.  Generally training will last from between 45-60 minutes maximum.

Events Calendar

There are plenty of races over the winter, a mixture of team relays and individual events.

Distances vary, but are generally 2000m for under 14s. Start times are always in the afternoon, usually 2pm. David and Michael will coordinate and enter teams for relays. For the other events, parents/guardians enter their children online on the www.athleticsauckland.co.nz website (event links below)
